The Ethos of the Absurd
The very idea of reason is dead and has been since its inception, stillborn into a world of broken idols and false institutions. The very notion of behaving ethically, of behaving like a good, reasonable person is at best a cruel joke. Given this, the only viable options seem to be the needle and/or the gun, the paths of rampant hedonism and unbridled self-destruction. The absurd man, sees these demons this Scylla and Charybdis and spits in their face(s)…The absurd man is not a man of dread and nonsense, but a man clinging to hope in a world that can foster no such thing.
